The current Board would like to re-assure customers and supporters of this Library that the Board of Trustees is now much stronger than before. Our commitment moving forward is that we will always provide 3 things to the people we serve:

Total transparency.
Balanced budgeting.
Positive progress.

We are holding a Public Meeting at 7 pm on May 5th  at the Kennett Public Library. Please attend to ask any questions and discuss recent events.  All facts and information will be available at the meeting.

Yours Faithfully,
The Kennett Public Library Trustees

If you've read Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline you won't want to miss this lecture. The Orphan Train Movement was a supervised welfare program that transported orphaned and homeless children from crowded Eastern cities of the United States to foster homes located largely in rural areas of the Midwest. The orphan trains operated between 1853 and 1929, relocating about 250,000 orphaned, abandoned, or homeless children. Local historian and author Donna Aviles will present an interesting and captivating look at this historical movement.
