Lecture - "The Road To and Through Impressionism"
Thursday, Oct 9 at 6:30 pm

The progression of art history throughout the late 19th century will be described in this lecture. The Pre-Impressionists, or Barbizon painters,  will be covered, up through Manet and then on to the true Impressionists, including Renoir and Monet. Lecturer Fred Dixon and his wife Martha live in Chadds Ford and are avid art collectors. Both served as docents at the Barnes Foundation for 10 years. Mr Dixon will also be signing copies of his book "700 Years of Art History; Pre-Renaissance to Modernism", offered for $35. Please call 610-444-2702 to register, or email psapko@ccls.org.    

Computer Basics for Adults
Class Begins Saturday Oct 18
Join us at the library to learn the basics of using a computer and the internet. Topics covered include hardware, word processing, email, and internet searching. The class will meet on alternating Thursdays from 5 to 6 pm or on alternating Saturdays from 10 am until 12 pm. The class will run for 4 weeks. Please call 610-444-2702 to register for either the Thursday afternoon or Saturday morning class.

The Write Group
A writer's support group for anyone with a serious interest in writing meets at 6:30 pm on second and fourth Tuesdays this fall at the library. All meetings are free.
